Canon Fall rebates Oct 18th – Jan 13th

The long awaited Canon Fall rebates are not only showing up 3 days later than expected but are also somehow disappointing.

The rebate list contains “only” lenses and the Canon speedlite 580 EX II with no camera body and no double rebates.

The Fall rebates this year will run from October 18th 2007 till January 13th 2008

Update about Canon Fall Rebates

I have to admit that I, like many others, have been waiting for Canon fall rebates to start anxiously.
We kind of got used to have these fall rebates running from October 15th till end of December each year but this year Canon did not announce any rebates.

I just received an email from a friend containing Canon reply to his inquiry about the rebates and I thought I would share.

“Canon USA has regrettably not yet announced when the Fall Rebate
program will start this year. This program generally starts on October 15th,
however, there is no indication of it yet.
The date should not be far, however. When the rebate is posted, you should be able to find it at:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=PromotionsAct
We hope this information is helpful to you. Please let us know if we
can be of any further assistance.”

Beware of fake Fake SanDisk CF Cards

This not exactly new news I know but it just look like there is a new wave of fake SandDisk Compact Flash cards. The rate is even alarming since cheap CF cards disguised as SanDisk Extreme III are more than 95% of all 1GB, 2GB, 4GB and 8GB CF listed on eBay.

The fake SanDisk unit is now made to appear 80% like genuine ones, many of them have fake capacity and slower transfer rate.

Here are two articles, one wrote by aussiememorysupply, an ebay vendor, and the other published on martybugs, full of clues to identify the genuine SandDisk compact flash.

Canon Europe Extra Promotion Cash Back Offers

I have already told you about the Canon EOS 30D cash back offer, well now Canon Europe is giving even more with, what they call, “EOS Extra Promotion Cash Back Offers”

Canon double fall rebates online calculator

I have had many question about the Canon Double Fall rebates running from October 15th 2006 till January 13th 2007. Many people were confused about what does it exactly mean and how rebates are calculated and if they still get double rebates if they buy from separate stores at different time or even if they buy 3 items will they get double rebates on all 3 of them?

Well I have found today a site that will simplify all the calculation questions: Canon Online fall rebates calculator, just check on the items you plan to buy and this page will dot the rest.

Now regarding the other question, one shouldn’t necessary buy all items neither from the same store, nor in the same day as long as bought from Canon Authorized resellers.
