Do you use Auto or Custom white balance ? [Poll]
I’ve recently got in my inbox a question about White Balance that I haven’t had the chance to answer yet. However it got me thinking that I have my camera set to Auto White balance 90% and the other 10% of the time it is custom white balance taken from a Grey card. No matter how hard I try I don’t remember ever using the preset white balance modes of my camera like “Shades”, “Tungsten” etc…

I was surprised by the poll results of last week’s question “Do you put all your eggs in one basket ?“. Although I was not exactly expecting one specific answer to win over the other, I did not expect either a 50/50 situation.
I also had some added answers
- 1 to 2 gig max: I considered this as small cards
- 100-200 shots per card: This went to small cards too
- A few big cards and older smaller cards: I added this one to Few big cards

Do you put all your eggs in one basket ? [Poll]
I have been struggling with this question for quite some time, is it OK to have one big CF/SD card or it is safer to have many smaller ones, and where is the cut between practicality and safety?
Myself I never had the guts to buy a CF card bigger than 1 GB, I have a lot of 1GB cards and a few 512MB even and I always feel it is safer that way. Having recently loss 80 pictures due to a card corruption I am happy with my decision. However I feel it is somehow overkill to carry all these cards, I would be much better with 1 or 2 4GB cards.
So what do you guys do ?
