It turned out that the short URL of every picture is provided by flickr and is included in the HTML code of the flickr page page itself.

To find out the code to your picture here is what you should do

1. Open the flickr page of your desired picture, e.g. http://www.flickr.com/photos/akhater/3188623049/ 
   N.B.: make sure not to include any /in/set-xxxx in the URL, for e.g. http://www.flickr.com/photos/akhater/3188623049/in/set-72157600048927403/ will not work, you should stop before the in/set-xxxx part

2. Right click –> View source

3. Now search for the “flic.kr” string you should find something like
   <link rev="canonical" type="text/html" href="http://flic.kr/p/5RLwxt" >

4. I think you guessed that you only need to copy the red part of the code above, this is your short flickr URL

Now if you happen to use firefox and Greasemonkey you will only need to download and install this script that will display the current photo's flic.kr link on the page. A worthwhile script to be added Top 10 greasemonkey scripts for flickr.

I took these pictures with very rudimentary equipment, since I don’t have a way to trigger my external flash off shoe, I just set my camera to 2 sec exposure in a pitch black room and I was triggering the flash manually speaking, so it took me a good deal of trial and error to get the desired effect.

Post processing on this one is minimal, just curves to increase contrast and resizing for web.

Here are other compositions I tried for that project but ended up liking this one more.

bay, clustered together here and there. They are almost an icon of the suburban

This is the picture of an old church in the village of Batroun in North Lebanon. I was there shooting during the week end and took this shot for the project.

I know that it could use much enhancements specially with regards to contrasts, however I do not have Adobe Photoshop installed on my computer yet ” ((“I have recently formated”))” and I didn’t want to miss the deadline so this is a quick one done with Picasa.

On a more personal note I LOVE low viewpoint shoot and find myself shooting on my knees quite frequently.
